I want to make this perfectly clear. You beer geeks made my job the best in the world. I literally got paid to talk beer with all of you. That was my job. And I cannot think of anything better to do. Now, if only there were money in beer...
But seriously, thank you all. It's been an amazing 20 months of working here. As I said last week, I am sure we will be seeing plenty of each other at our favorite watering holes.
I have gotten a lot of questions about where you guys can go and find helpful people along with a great beer selection. Here are the four places I have, and will continue to, frequent as a beer geek:
Arrowine in North Arlington. Ask for Nick.
Connecticut Avenue Wine and Liquor in DuPont Circle. Ask for Al.
Norms in Vienna. Ask for Norm.
Schneiders in Capitol Hill. Ask for Stewart.
Drink local as long as it's good. Buy in small shops, because people at stores that rhyme with Botal Dine don't know you and most likely don't know a damn thing about the product. Good people drink good beer.
On the Tasting Table:
Saturday, December 29th, 2012, 12 noon - 5 PM.Well, not much inventory left. But I will pull 3 to 4 beers off the shelf to try. Here is why you want to come in and taste. I'm gonna pull one bottle each of these beers to let you all drink. They aren't available for sale, obviously. Let's tick some great beers. Get here EARLY! Once they are gone, they are gone.
